Endura Racing

Endura prepare to make their Tour of Britain debut having stepped up to the UCI Continental level in 2010.

The newly expanded team began the season by racing abroad in prestigious races like the Tour of the Mediterranean and the Tour du Haut Var in France and the Vuelta a Murcia in Spain, which they hope will stand them in good stead when it comes to their Tour of Britain bow.

Evan Oliphant has ridden five Tours of Britain and should be one to look for, especially as he’ll be hoping to represent Scotland at October’s Commonwealth Games in India. Teammates Ian Wilkinson and Rob Hayles rode The Tour for Halfords in 2009, with Hayles picking up the lanterne rouge for last man overall.

Among the other names to look for are New Zealand national champion Jack Bauer, who took an explosive Halfords Tour Series victory in Chester and Frenchman Alexandre Blain, a Halfords Tour Series winner in Southport.

Blain rode well in small European stage races for Cofidis while racing at the sport’s highest level in the UCI ProTour, so he’ll be helping to translate that to The Tour of Britain, where he could feature in the sprints.
